This service can be used by Australian Public Service (APS) agencies to experiment with low-risk app development, deploy generative AI applications and access a range of tools to help teams quickly create custom solutions.

Current Offerings

GovAI Hosting Platform – Public/Synthetic data only (Beta) 

GovAI provides hosting infrastructure and LLMs that enable the development of AI applications, particularly those that may meet the needs of multiple agencies. 

We do not develop custom apps, and we are not currently an advisory or consultancy service. 

Platform features: 

  • Limited to low-risk AI use-case development. Platform enforced resource-based guardrails aligned to safe experimentation with synthetic and public data only.
  • Full access to a Microsoft Azure Subscription for full application and resource development, testing and experimenting.
  • Isolated networking environment to deploy limited internet facing resources.
  • Deployment support via Azure portal (aka Click-Ops) or Infrastructure as Code solutions (IaC) such as Bicep and Terraform.
  • Full access to deploy all Generative AI LLM models offered by Azure OpenAI including an onshore instance of GPT-4o and open-source models via Azure Machine Learning.

GovAI Onshore LLM Brokerage Service (Beta)

  • Support for synthetic and public data only (until further security accreditation is complete).
  • Access to the latest foundational LLM models from multiple providers including Azure OpenAI and AWS Bedrock, initially limited to a subset of models such as OpenAI GPT-4o (available now) and Anthropic Claude 4 (coming soon).
  • IRAP assessed cloud service providers.
  • Immediate access to existing published models without costly procurement timeframes and commitments.
  • Access restricted to agency registered IP’s only with subscription key-based authentication.
  • Support native client SDKs for models wherever possible to facilitate application and service compatibility.
  • Planned: PAYG and reserved performance subscriptions.
  • Planned: Support for AI use cases that handle PROTECTED classified data.
  • Planned: Expansion to other providers including Google Vertex AI and IBM Granite.

GovAI Hosting Platform – AWS 

  • Full access to an Amazon Web Services Account for application and resource development, testing and experimenting.

GovAI Hosting Platform – OFFICIAL:Sensitive 

  • Extend an existing GovAI or in-house AI application to use and leverage classified data up to OFFICIAL:Sensitive.
  • Stricter platform controls and guard-rails to enforce best-practice cloud resource deployments and enforce data and application protections.
